Merrymeeting Audubon Trip: Sparrows and More at Green Point Farm WMA

Topics: Chapters | Trips | Merrymeeting

Fall migrants will be the target on these two walks through the weedy fields at Maine Inland Fish and Wildlife’s Green Point Farm WMA in Dresden. Migrant sparrows abound here with ten species recorded and individuals at times numbering in the hundreds. We will also look for other migrants in the wide variety of habitats Green Point has to offer.

Meet at the CVS in Bath at 7:00 to car-pool, or at 7:30 at Green Point.

Directions: from Route 1 in Woolwich take Route 127 north. Go 1.8 miles, turn left onto Route 128 (Days Ferry). Proceed north on 128 to the Eastern River Bridge. Park at the green shed, on your left, 0.3 miles north of the Eastern River Bridge on Rt 128. Plenty of space. Water-proof footwear is recommended.
