Little Birds, Long Winter

Topics: Fields Pond | Birding

Many birds found in Maine during the summer migrate to southern climates or to open water along the coast. Against all odds some tiny birds like kinglets and the slightly larger chickadees persist here all winter. To cope with drastic change in weather, chickadees and other birds have special adaptations to help them survive. We will explore that fine-tuning to gain a new appreciation of these feathered wonders.
